Tyler Jermann to Run Twin Cities Marathon, Six Team USA Minnesota Athletes to Compete in TC 10 Mile on Oct. 7; Heather Kampf Wins Navy Mile on Sept. 30

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Oct. 2, 2018 - Team USA Minnesota's Tyler Jermann will be in the elite field at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on Oct. 7.  In addition, six teammates - Meghan Peyton, Katy Jermann, Dakotah Lindwurm, Kevin Lewis, Danny Docherty and Joel Reichow - will be among the competitors that same morning in the Medtronic TC 10 Mile, which is also host to the USATF 10 Mile Championships.


The 37th annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon starts at 8:00 a.m., while the 20th annual Medtronic TC 10 Mile begins at 7:00 a.m.  Both races start in downtown Minneapolis near the U.S. Bank Stadium and finish at the State Capitol in St. Paul.

Jermann has a best of 2:16:39 in the marathon and has third and fourth place finishes at the Pittsburgh Marathon.  He also was seventh at last January's Houston Marathon, competed in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon, and was the 2017 USATF 50k Champion in a time of 2:48.

In the 10 Mile, Peyton has a best of 54:42 and finished 12th in this race last year, while (Katy) Jermann has posted 56:04 in the distance and Lindwurm has run 58:21.

Lewis and Docherty have both run 49:54 in the 10 Mile with Reichow making his debut in the distance.

Navy Mile - Sept. 30

Heather Kampf won the Navy Mile in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 30, making a successful return to competition after being out of action for a year with a lingering injury.  The four-time National Champion in the road mile crossed the finish line in 4:40.77.

Also competing at the Navy Mile was Breanna Sieracki who finished in eighth place with a time of 4:59.05.

Both Kampf and Sieracki will run in the TC 5k, presented by Fredrikson & Byron, on Saturday, Oct. 6.  Sieracki returns to defend her title in the TC 5k while Kampf will move up in distance to run the race that begins at 8:45 a.m.  The event starts and finishes on the State Capitol Grounds in St. Paul.
