Heather Kampf Wins Mile, Jamie Cheever Wins 3000m at Jack Johnson Minnesota Classic Jan. 21

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Jan. 24, 2012 - Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf won the women's mile race, Jamie Cheever was first in the women's 3000 meters, and Chris Rombough was second in the men's 3000 meters at the Jack Johnson Minnesota Classic on Jan. 21.

 

At the indoor track meet, which was held at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse in Minneapolis, Kampf set a meet record of 4:41.5 in her opening race of the 2012 track season.

 

In the 3000 meters, Cheever's time was 9:25.42 and Rombough posted 8:06.7.  The three athletes all competed for the Golden Gophers at the University and are well familiar with the Minnesota Fieldhouse.

 

Next up for Cheever and Rombough will be the USA Cross Country Championships in St. Louis on Feb. 11.  Kampf will compete at another indoor track meet in mid-February.
