Matt Gabrielson to Compete on U.S. Team at Bupa Cross Country Meet in Scotland Jan. 8; Results from New York's Midnight Run

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Jan. 6, 2011 - Team USA Minnesota's Matt Gabrielson has been selected as a member of the U.S. men's team that will compete at the 2011 Bupa Great Edinburgh International Cross Country meet in Scotland.  The nine-member U.S. squad will compete against other international teams on Jan. 8.

 

Gabrielson has previously represented the U.S. at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships men's 12k in 2005, 2006 and 2007.  Last February, he placed 10th at the USA Cross Country Championships which were held in Spokane.  Gabrielson also was a member of the U.S. team at the 2009 IAAF World Outdoor Championships where he competed in the marathon.

 

Emerald Nuts Midnight Run Results

At the Emerald Nuts Midnight 4-mile run in New York City's Central Park on New Year's Eve, Jason Lehmkuhle was seventh in the men's field with a time of 18:50.  More than 4,500 runners participated in the annual event which has been held since 1978 to welcome in the New Year.
